Am 23.11.1992 wurden in Mölln zwei rassistische Brandanschläge verübt, bei denen Ayşe Yılmaz, Yeliz Arslan und Bahide Arslan ermordet wurden. In Gedenken an sie findet jährlich die Möllner Rede im Exil statt. Seit 2013 ist die Rede nicht mehr Teil des offiziellen Gedenkens der Stadt Mölln und wird an unterschiedlichen Orten im Exil gehalten. Die von Ibrahim Arslan initiierte Veranstaltung rückt die Perspektiven der Betroffenen und Angehörigen in den Mittelpunkt und schafft einen lebendigen Ort der Erinnerung. Die Möllner Rede ist auch Ausdruck einer selbstbestimmten und solidarischen Gedenkpraxis, die dazu anregt, die dominante Erinnerungskultur in Deutschland zu reflektieren und vielfältige Verbindungen herzustellen.
An dem Abend sprechen neben den Familien Arslan und Yılmaz auch Angehörige und Betroffene des rassistischen Attentats am Münchner Olympia-Einkaufszentrum sowie Familienangehörige von Semra Ertan, die sich 1982 aus Protest gegen Rassismus öffentlich selbst verbrannte. Die diesjährige Keynote halten Alena Isabelle Jabarine und Deborah Feldman. Musikalisch begleitet wird die Möllner Rede im Exil von den Musiker*innen Berivan Kaya, Nadina Memagić und Asmir Šabić. Als Teil des Bühnenbildes wird eine Installation der Künstlerin Rajya Karumanchi-Dörsam zu sehen sein, die an alle Todesopfer rechter, rassistischer Gewalt seit Gründung der Bundesrepublik erinnert. Moderiert wird der Abend von Ayşe Güvendiren.
Bei der Veranstaltung wird es eine Simultanübersetzung ins Türkische geben.
Organisiert von den Familien Arslan und Yılmaz und dem »Bündnis im Gedenken an den rassistischen Brandanschlag in Mölln 1992«. Das Bündnis besteht aus Mitgliedern und Freund*innen der Familie Arslan und verbundenen Personen aus antirassistischen Zusammenhängen.

On November 23, 1992, two racist arson attacks were carried out in Mölln, killing Ayşe Yılmaz, Yeliz Arslan, and Bahide Arslan. In memory of them, the Mölln Speech in Exile is held annually. Since 2013, the speech has no longer been part of the official commemoration of the city of Mölln and is held at various locations in exile. The event, initiated by Ibrahim Arslan, focuses on the perspectives of those affected and their relatives and creates a living place of remembrance. The Mölln Speech is also an expression of a self-determined and solidarity-based commemorative practice that encourages reflection on the dominant culture of remembrance in Germany and the establishment of diverse connections.
In addition to the Arslan and Yılmaz families, relatives and victims of the racist attack at the Munich Olympia shopping center will also speak at the event, as well as family members of Semra Ertan, who publicly burned herself to death in 1982 in protest against racism. This year’s keynote speeches will be given by Alena Isabelle Jabarine and Deborah Feldman. The Möllner Rede im Exil will be accompanied musically by musicians Berivan Kaya, Nadina Memagić, and Asmir Šabić. As part of the stage design, an installation by artist Rajya Karumanchi-Dörsam will be on display, commemorating all victims of right-wing, racist violence since the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany. The evening will be moderated by Ayşe Güvendiren.
Simultaneous translation into Turkish will be provided at the event.
Organized by the Arslan and Yılmaz families and the “Alliance in Memory of the Racist Arson Attack in Mölln in 1992.” The alliance consists of members and friends of the Arslan family and associated individuals from anti-racist circles.
