Wir freuen uns sehr Euch zur Eröffnung von BURNING IXXUES einzuladen, in unseren eigens dafür eingerichteten Reading Room. BURNING IXXUES versammelt über 100 Zines, die während sozialer Bewegungen weltweit entstanden sind und von dem Kollektiv ZINE COOP (Hongkong) zusammengetragen wurde. Die Sammlung nahm ihren Ausgang bei den Pro-Demokratie-Protesten 2019 in Hongkong und hat immer noch einen Schwerpunkt auf Faltblätter, Comics, Protokolle, Infoblätter, Texte, Reportagen, Zeitungen, Hilfestellungen usw. aus dieser Zeit. BURNING IXXUES zeigt Perspektiven von Menschen aus Hongkong und der ganzen Welt, die für eine hoffnungsvollere Zukunft kämpfen. Die Sammlung ist auch jetzt 2021 alles andere als irrelevant, da Probleme mit Polizeigewalt, einseitiger Berichterstattung oder Fakenews, der Kampf gegen Unterdrückungen aller Art bei gleichzeitigem Bedarf nach Fürsorge universell und weltweit aktuell bleiben. Das Zine, als einfache, selbst veröffentlichte, oft anonym verbreitete, Publikation, erlaubt wie keine andere Form sich persönlich mit der politischen Situation auseinanderzusetzen, Allianzen zu bilden, Sorge, Schmerz, Wut und Ohnmacht zu teilen.
ZINE COOP (seit 2017) ist ein unabhängiges Publishing-Kollektiv in Hongkong. Sie produzieren und sammeln Zines und vermitteln diese über Workshops und Ausstellungen. ZINE COOP ist nicht hierarchisch organisiert und heißt alle Interessierten willkommen auf ihre eigene Weise beizutragen. Aktuelle aktive Mitglieder sind Atom Cheung, Beatrix Pang, Forrest Lau, Jason Li und Ranee Ng. Sie sind geographisch über Hongkong, Japan und Kanada verstreut, aber im Geiste vereint.

We are very pleased to invite you to the opening of BURNING IXXUES, in our specially installed Reading Room. BURNING IXXUES brings together over 100 zines created during social movements around the world and collected by the collective ZINE COOP (Hong Kong). The collection started during the 2019 pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong and still has a focus on leaflets, comics, logs, infosheets, texts, reportages, newspapers, help-lines, etc. from that time. BURNING IXXUES present the perspectives of people around the world who are striving and fighting for a more hopeful future.The collection is far from irrelevant even now in 2021, as problems with police violence, biased reporting or fakenews, fighting oppression of all kinds while caring for each other remain universal and relevant worldwide. The zine, as a simple, self-published, often anonymously distributed, publication allows like no other form to personally engage with the political situation, to build alliances, to share concern, pain, anger and powerlessness.
ZINE COOP is an independent publishing collective based in Hong Kong. They collect and educate, while curating zine publications, workshops, and exhibitions. Founded in 2017, ZINE COOP operate without a fixed or hierarchical membership system, and welcome all interested parties to contribute in their own way. Current active members are Atom Cheung, Beatrix Pang, Forrest Lau, Jason Li, and Ranee Ng. They are geographically scattered across Hong Kong, Japan, and Canada, but united in spirit.
Paula Pongratz lives, makes and studies art in Munich and tries to work less.
